You can decide your destiny in life. Basically, you are the architect and engineer in constructing your life. Your thoughts about yourself in the past have manifested themselves as your present reality.
When you change the beliefs about who you are, you change the person you become and the life that you will lead in the future. Most people are critical of themselves and this is mainly due to the beliefs others had of them in the past. The internalised the feedback and take it as the truth about themselves. People have a tendency not to question their beliefs, they don’t know whether or not they have any validity.
If we the life we lead we must re-programme our thoughts we have about ourselves. !I am” is one of the most powerful statements you can make about yourself. The nature of the subconscious mind is that it believes what it is repeatedly told, whether are not it makes any sense.
Take this as an example. A very confident woman marries an abusive and demeaning man who is constantly putting her down in his moments of stress and aggression. As the years goes by that woman is going to lose confidence in herself, not because what the man was saying was true but because of the repeated statements in moments of heightened emotion in the woman.
When you keep repeating the statements of how your life is at the moment, you are instructing your subconscious to keep your present reality as your future reality. You have the power to change the statements. When you use the power of the “I am” statements consistently your life will transform because the conscious habit will become an unconscious habit. You must make the “I am” statements your everyday conscious statements.
Get rid of the negative words that have a hold over you. The subconscious mind doesn’t register abstractions or negative words, it focuses on the concrete words and images that are contained in your statements. For instance, if you make the statement “I don’t want to be afraid on the plane” and you see yourself being afraid on the plane, you are giving your subconscious mind the instruction that is opposite to what you want.
As Joel Osteen said, “What follows the “I am” will always come looking for you. Many times, we are using the power of ‘I am’ against us.” You can see what your future will be like by discovering your current “I am” beliefs.
Become aware of your of your negative “I am” statements, make a list and then switch them from negative statements to positive ones. Here are some examples of positive statements. I am successful, I am smart, I am prosperous, I am healthy and strong, I am lovable.
Make your powerful “I am” statements part of your daily routine. When you get up in the morning stand in front of your mirror in the bathroom, make two fists, stand up straight, put your body in a powerful state repeat your statements with a powerful inner voice.
Remember, you become what you repeatedly say to yourself each day. Give instructions to your mind to become the person you are capable of becoming and live the life that you are capable of living.
